Chili Chicken Dry is a popular Indo-Chinese dish that's enjoyed by many food enthusiasts. It's a delicious blend of spicy, sweet, and sour flavors that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. In this blog, we'll be sharing an easy-to-follow recipe for making chili chicken dry at home. So, let's get started!
Ingredients:
- 500g boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp red chili sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 capsicum, diced
- 2-3 green chilies, sliced
- 1 tsp garlic, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger, finely chopped
- Spring onions, chopped for garnish
Method:
- In a bowl, mix the cornflour, all-purpose flour, ginger-garlic paste, egg, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken pieces and mix well until the chicken is coated evenly with the mixture.
- Heat oil in a pan and deep-fry the chicken pieces until they turn golden brown. Remove from the oil and keep aside.
- In another pan, heat 2 tbsp oil and add the chopped garlic and ginger. Saute for a few seconds until they turn aromatic.
- Add the onions, capsicum, and green chilies and saute on high flame for 2–3 minutes until they turn slightly soft.
- Add soy sauce, red chili sauce, tomato sauce, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for a minute.
- Add the fried chicken pieces and mix well until they are coated evenly with the sauce. Cook for another 2–3 minutes on high flame until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot.
Tips:
- Make sure to fry the chicken until it's crispy and golden brown to get the perfect texture.
- Adjust the spice level according to your taste by adding more or less of the chili sauce and green chilies.
- You can also add some diced carrots and cabbage to the dish for extra crunch and flavor.
