  10. Layer the rest of the rice on top of the chicken and rice mixture.

  11. Sprinkle a handful of mint and cilantro leaves on top of the rice.

  12. Cover the pot tightly with a lid and cook on low heat for 10–15 minutes until the rice is fully cooked, and the flavors have melded together.

  13. Once the biryani is cooked, remove the lid and fluff the rice with a fork.
